What to Expect at Your Session or Ceremony

Everything you need to know before your first visit, so nothing feels like a surprise.

You might be curious about energy healing but not entirely sure what actually happens when you show up. Maybe you’ve heard the words “pranic healing” or “sound bath” but can’t quite picture what the experience looks like in practice. Or maybe someone you trust told you about their experience and you’re interested, but the not-knowing is keeping you from taking the next step.

That’s fair. Most people feel some version of this before their first session. Here’s what you can expect, so that when you do walk through the door (or log onto Zoom), nothing feels like a surprise.

THE BASICS

What Every Session and Ceremony Shares

Regardless of which offering you choose, a few things are true across all of them.

No Physical Contact

Pranic Healing is a form of biofield therapy, which means it is entirely no-touch. I work with my hands or crystal on your biofield (the energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates your physical body), not on your physical body. You remain fully clothed throughout every session and ceremony.

You Don’t Need to Do Anything

No meditation technique to know, no breathing pattern to follow, no belief system to adopt. Your only job is to be present and allow yourself to receive.

It Addresses More Than You Might Expect

Your biofield interpenetrates every part of your physical body, and it is through this relationship that Pranic Healing can be helpful for physical, emotional, and mental concerns. Whether what you’re experiencing shows up in your body, your mood, your thought patterns, or a general sense of being “off,” the work meets you where you are.

Healing Continues Afterward

The energy work sets a process in motion that unfolds over hours and sometimes days. This is why aftercare matters, and why I provide a detailed Aftercare Guide for every client.

Private Pranic Healing Sessions

Before we begin, we’ll talk. Every private session starts with a conversation about what’s going on for you: what you’re experiencing physically, emotionally, or mentally, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping for. If this is your first session (an Initial Intake), this conversation is more in-depth so I can understand the full picture. For follow-up sessions, we’ll check in on how you’ve been since our last session and what’s surfaced.

During the session, you’ll sit comfortably in a chair or lie down. I work standing beside you or seated nearby, using my hands or crystal to scan your biofield, identify areas of congestion or depletion, and then systematically cleanse and energize those areas. You may notice me moving my hands in specific motions or flicking my fingers toward a bowl of salt water nearby (think of it as an energy trash can). I may ask you to sit in a specific position, speak some affirmations, or take a few deep breaths at certain points, but most of the session requires nothing from you except being present.

How it works: because your biofield interpenetrates every part of your physical body, working directly on this energy field can support healing on the physical, emotional, and mental levels. I’m clearing out congested or depleted energy and replacing it with fresh, healthy prana (life force energy), which supports your body’s own natural ability to heal.

How long it takes depends on which session type you’ve booked. An Initial Intake is 90 minutes, which includes the intake conversation and the healing work. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes. Energetic Tune-Ups for returning clients are 30 minutes of focused work on a specific area.

Virtual sessions work the same way. Pranic Healing is a no-touch modality by design, which means it works just as effectively at a distance. You’ll be on Zoom in a comfortable space at home, and most people find that virtual sessions are just as powerful as in-person ones.

After the session, I’ll share any recommendations for between-session care and we’ll talk about whether follow-up sessions would be beneficial. You’ll also receive a link to the Aftercare Guide with specific practices to support the ongoing healing process.

For in-person private sessions, there is free street parking available. The specific location in Minneapolis will be shared with you when you book your session.

Sound and Pranic Healing sessions combine everything described above with therapeutic sound healing. In addition to the biofield therapy of Pranic Healing, I incorporate instruments, vocal toning, and specific frequencies that work with both your biofield and your physical body directly.

How the sound works: through a principle called sympathetic resonance, the sound vibrations cause specific parts of your body to vibrate in response. Through this vibration, congested or negative energies can be released from both the physical body and the biofield. At the same time, the frequencies guide your brainwaves into states of deep relaxation and activate your parasympathetic nervous system (your body’s “rest and digest” mode). When combined with Pranic Healing, the sound creates a more immersive experience that many people find allows them to go deeper than either modality alone.

What you’ll experience during the sound portion: you’ll lie down, close your eyes, and allow the vibrations to wash over you. You may feel physical sensations (warmth, tingling, vibration in specific areas), emotional releases, or a dreamlike state where images or insights arise. Some people describe it as the deepest rest they’ve ever experienced while still being conscious.

Session length: Initial Intake is 2 hours for new clients. Follow-up sessions are 90 minutes for returning clients.

Group ceremonies happen every 1st and 3rd Friday at Studio Timeout in Minneapolis, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Each ceremony integrates three modalities into a single experience: ceremonial cacao, live sound healing, and Pranic Healing for the group.

When you arrive, you’ll find a space prepared with intention: soft lighting, instruments arranged at the front, and a wood floor where everyone sits or lies down for the evening. Please bring your own yoga mat or cushion, as the studio does not provide them. A blanket is also a good idea if you tend to get cold during deep relaxation. There is a free parking lot on site, plus free street parking nearby if the lot fills up.

The ceremony typically unfolds like this. We begin with a cacao meditation, drinking the ceremonial cacao together in a guided meditative space. Afterward, we move into an opening circle, and then into a spiritual lecture on the night’s theme. These lectures are not just informational: they typically include different exercises designed to help you release the emotional or mental weight of whatever we’re working on that evening. After the lecture and exercises, we flow into the sound and Pranic Healing portion of the night. You can either lie down on your mat or remain seated during this part, whichever feels right for you. We close with a brief sharing circle for anyone who wants to express what came up.

About the cacao: ceremonial cacao is a natural plant medicine made from the seeds of the Theobroma cacao tree. It contains a range of beneficial compounds, including magnesium, antioxidants (vitamins A, C, and E, beta-carotene, and manganese), flavanols, potassium, and theobromine (a gentle cardiovascular stimulant). Many people experience cacao as “heart-opening.” It may increase emotional presence, soften mental chatter, and help you feel more connected to your body, intuition, and others. Traditionally, cacao has been used in spiritual and healing ceremonies to support emotional release, heart-centered connection, and inner reflection. It is not psychedelic.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. You don’t need to know anyone there. You don’t need to share anything you’re not comfortable sharing. Many people come alone and find that the group energy adds something meaningful to the experience.

Pranic Feng Shui applies the principles of biofield therapy to the energy of your living or working space. Just as your physical body has a biofield that can become congested or depleted, so does your environment. The energy of your home or office directly affects your well-being, your relationships, your sleep, and even your prosperity.

The process begins with a Discovery Call. Because Pranic Feng Shui is a more specialized offering, we start with a conversation about your space, your goals, and what you’ve been experiencing. This helps me understand what we’re working with before we go further.

After the Discovery Call, I’ll ask you to send some materials: a floor plan of your space, photos of furniture and bed placement, kitchen layout (stove and sink positions), bathroom locations, cardinal directions, doors, windows, and openings, as well as photos of artwork, mirrors, and ornaments. I’ll also want to know the colors used in each room. I review these materials over 24 to 48 hours before we meet for the session.

During the session, we do a live walkthrough of your space together (in-person in Minneapolis or virtually via Zoom). I’ll share specific suggestions on what to adjust, rearrange, or address. We then do a house clearing together, removing congested and negative energies from the space, followed by a guided blessing that you participate in with me. The goal is to leave you with a space that energetically supports the life you’re working toward.

To get started, book a free Discovery Call and let me know you’re interested in Pranic Feng Shui.

You don't need to be ready. You just need to be receptive, willing, and open

Almost nobody feels ready their first time. The people sitting next to you at a ceremony or lying on the table for their first session felt the same uncertainty you feel right now. What they had in common wasn't readiness. It was willingness.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Ready to Experience It for Yourself?

Considering private sessions? Start with a free Discovery Call. It’s a relaxed, 60-minute conversation: the first 20 to 30 minutes are for you to share what’s going on, then I’ll spend about 15 minutes explaining how Pranic Healing works and how it might apply to your situation, and we’ll close with a brief 10 to 15 minute mini healing experience so you can actually feel what this work is like before making any decisions. Most people in Minnesota haven’t encountered Pranic Healing before, and I’ve found that experiencing it firsthand, even for just a few minutes, communicates more than any explanation can.

Drawn to the group experience? Register for an upcoming ceremony and come see what it’s like. No experience needed. Come as you are.

Caring for yourself after healing

Complementary Care

Pranic Healing supports your body’s natural healing process alongside whatever medical or therapeutic care you are receiving. I do not diagnose conditions, and I always encourage clients to continue working with their doctors and therapists. As Grand Master Choa Kok Sui taught: “Pranic Healing is not intended to replace orthodox medicine but rather to complement it.”
