My Teachers
Highlighting figures whose work has most shaped my practice
Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui
What is probably the least expected thing about the founder of modern Pranic Healing is that he was a chemical engineer and very successful businessman. This is some of the foundation of everything that makes his teachings distinctive. Rather than presenting energy healing as a matter of belief or spiritual receptivity, Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui spent decades systematically testing techniques on thousands of cases before he ever taught them publicly, approaching the biofield (or energy body) with the same rigor a scientist would bring to any other subject of study. The result is a body of work that is precise, repeatable, and teachable, and one that explicitly encourages students to test what they are learning rather than accept it on faith. The practice of intelligent evaluation is one of the first things that is taught in every pranic healing class and it’s not something I often hear from different spiritual teachings or modalities.
The first book in Pranic Healing, “Miracles Through Pranic Healing,” remains one of the clearest introductions to the tradition and is worth reading whether you are new to energy work or have been practicing for years. Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui left the body in 2007, but the body of work he left behind continues to be practiced and taught by certified instructors around the world. I believe this speaks to something important about the tradition. It was never built around his personality. It was built around the techniques themselves, which is why it continues to produce results long after his passing.
When I began applying these teachings, the results I witnessed were often profound. People found relief from patterns they had carried for years, and in some cases shifts occurred much more quickly than I would have thought possible. Those experiences are what convinced me that this work reaches a layer of the human system that many other modalities do not directly address, and that is all thanks to the work Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui did in his life. Without the life’s work he devoted to developing and spreading these teachings, I would not have had the tools to help the people I have been able to help. I am deeply grateful to you Master Choa.
Master Stephen Co
Master Stephen Co if my first and direct teacher in the Pranic Healing lineage and is one of 8 Master Pranic Healers worldwide. Studying from someone who sat with Master Choa has been a privilege and I feel deeply grateful for what I’ve learned from studying under him. I resonate deeply with his teaching style to often overshare and to really make sure that you come away understanding the teachings properly.
Master Co also co-authored a book called “Your Hands Can Heal You” with Eric Robins, MD, a collaboration that speaks directly to the spirit of Pranic Healing as a complementary practice. I have met and seen many medical doctors come into this practice and just the simple fact of that can speak volumes to what Pranic Healing can do. Pranic Healing and conventional medical care are not in competition. They address different layers of the human system, and when both are present simultaneously, clients tend to heal faster than they do with either one alone.
Through the courses I have taken with him and his ongoing video series, Anchor the Light, I have been able to deepen my understanding of the teachings in ways that continue to shape how I work with clients. If you are curious about exploring the Pranic Healing tradition through his work directly, I encourage you to look into what he offers.
Dr. Paul Hubbert
Dr. Paul Hubbert introduced me to a dimension of sound healing that goes considerably deeper than the instruments themselves. His system, which he calls Holographic Sound Healing, is built on the understanding that sound is not merely an auditory experience but a multidimensional one, meaning that tones, frequencies, and intention interact with the energetic and emotional layers of a person simultaneously, not just the physical sense of hearing. That framework gave me a way to understand why sound healing can produce the kinds of shifts it does, rather than simply knowing that it works without knowing why. Learning these teachings expanded what I already knew from a classical training background and I’m grateful for what is shared in his classes.
One of the most transformative aspects of his teaching for me was his focus on using the human voice as a healing instrument. Most approaches I’ve seen tend to focus on singing bowls, gongs, and other physical instruments, and those are genuinely powerful tools. He shared in class that the voice is the original instrument and this brings about something deeper and more potent than most instruments can do. Dr. Hubbert’s exploration of the connection between the Hathors, sound, and spiritual practice gave me a framework for working with vocal toning and frequency that I bring into sessions and ceremonies. I’m deeply grateful to have learned from him.
Holly Busse
Holly Busse was my first energy healing teacher. In 2021, I was coming home from a spiritual retreat with a friend and they were coming down with covid on the flight/car ride back. I instinctively put my hand on her back to comfort her and I unintentionally sucked all the diseased energy out of her and into my arm. She ended up being completely fine and recovering almost instantly and I took on the disease. Both me and my friend were so shocked by what I had inadvertently done that she insisted on me learning about Reiki. I had never heard of Reiki or any energy healing at this point, but was excited to learn more.
I was grateful to receive the go through and become a Reiki Master under Hollys guidance. She helped me to begin to trust and listen to my intuition and the inner guidance that comes through during sessions. if you want to learn Reiki, she’s an amazing teacher.
